Get UNComfortable This Weekend!!!

Good Morning Lovies!!!

It’s a thunderstormy one over here in Manhattan…and I kinda like it!

It’s nice to have some storm action going on occasionally <wink wink>…Oddly, there’s a calming effect a storm can bring about — makes you want to get cozy!

…Speaking of “namaste,” I have been getting my Yoga on bunches!

…You see, Dolls, the gym in our building is closed for a few days due to renovation, so it has forced me to explore, and break out of my day-to-day routine - which I LOVE! :)

My workout of choice (in lieu of the treadmill & elliptical):

  • Daily YOGA classes
  • Walking the City like it’s nobody’s business (in addition to my Pilates sessions)

Sometimes forced change can be a wonderful thing! -especially when it involves a workout regimen. Humans like routine and familiarity, but it is important to continue to shock your body, and expose it to a wide variety of physically and mentally stimulating activities! THAT’S WHERE YOU SEE CHANGE, Dolls! …

So I DARE YOU! …Break out of your routine & comfort zone this weekend! 

Instead, opt for a new and exciting activity you don’t often participate in! I promise, you’ll feel fantastic, have more fun, and have a stronger sense of accomplishment when you do this! Here are some ideas:

  • If you RUN/Walk —> Change WHERE you run: Outdoors, Beach, Hiking Trail
  • Try Biking! 
  • Hike 
  • Surf
  • Rollerskate/blade
  • Water Ski
  • Beach Volleyball
  • Swim!
  • Play Catch
  • Try exercise class you’ve never taken before! (Go with a buddy/friend!)

…The list goes ON! …

On that note, I need to change for my AM Yoga class that I’m not accustomed to, yet very excited for! :)

Samantha & Steven Sitting in a Tree…

Good Morning Lover Doves!

I have a *VERY* special announcement ahead of us, but I would like to address Business first & foremost.

Despite previously mentioning Daily Dubie 2.0 making it’s debut FRIDAY (tomorrow), I must inform your beautiful eyeballs that I have decided to launch the new site 

Monday, August 1st!!! …and for a few good reasons at that!

#1). It’s not only the start of a new week, but it also marks the start of a new MONTH! It couldn’t get more appropriate than that!

#2). I have my work cut out for myself this weekend, as far as creating content for your eyeballs goes. I need MORE TIME!

There are also a few things you need to know prior to Daily Dubie 2.0 showing it’s beautiful face:

-I am no longer using Tumblr as my CMS (Content Management System), and so I must familiarize & learn a whole new, yet lovely & amazeballs, system! Again, TAKES TIME!

-Because of this, my archives will not be available within the new site, rather, only via direct link.

-Because of this, I need to get crackin’ with the content, so you can get a taste for what’s to come in the future of Daily Dubie 2.0! I don’t want any empty “Channels.” (Oh yeah, the new & improved DD has what we refer to as “Channels” - it’s pretty fancy stuff). <wink wink>.

So that’s that with the bidness…

Slow People, Food Talk, & Blog Candy

Good Afternoon Delight, Dollies!!!

…Again, I’ve had myself a whirlwind morning!

My favorite part thus far, was waiting at the Doctor’s office for close to 2 hours - they were holding me hostage! …Not only did I have to wait ions for Doc to come into the room (Mrs. DD regulated on her a$$! WE’RE ALL BUSY in this world! Let’s get on with the show already! Sheesh!)…but it proved near impossible to leave! And, among many things, I was on the world’s slowest elevator that stopped at every god-forsaken floor….and the Subway was really cool too —> Why is everyTHING and everyONE so damn slow today?!?! Ay dios mio! 

…Thanks to Jesus, Mary & Joseph, I am FINALLY back at the crib (woop woop!)…

So NOW, my friends, let’s get on with OUR SHOW here, yes?!?! …

FIRST, let’s talk FOOD!

…I took some photos of last night’s Whole Wheat Orzo, Heirloom Tomato & Basil Salad:

All this consisted of was the following:

Whole Wheat Orzo

Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes

Fresh Organic Basil

Freshly Shredded Parmesan-Reggiano Cheese

Olive Oil

Salt & Pepper to taste

Easy as pie!

The only thing I would do different next time, is not to cook the tomatoes at all, and instead add them fresh & cold! —Better for Summer!

The next order of Food Talk comes in the form of my

Strawberry Banana Breakfast Smoothie

I spiced things up with Macadamia Nuts & Flax Seeds!

This consisted of the following:

3/4 Cup NF Plain Greek Yogurt

1 Frozen Banana

3/4 Cup Frozen Strawberries

1/3 Cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk

1 tsp Raw Organic Honey

…Bam! Done! And yum in the tum it ‘twas… <wink wink>.

I have to jam, so I can go run more errands before my 4 o’clock walk-through with my web-developer (Daily Dubie 2.0!!!), but I have some special Blog Candy to share with your eyeballs!

A Very Daily Dubie Food Diary

Good Afternoon Mis Amiguitos Preciosos!!!

…Once again, I was inundated with appointments all day today, and have only NOW had a moment to ~Namaste~ and check-in with all of your beautiful eyeballs.

<wink wink>…

So here is what’s up!

Because I was running around town like a nut, my meals had to be quick and efficient!

Let me break it down for you:

Quick: Literally take NO time (less than 5 minutes) to prepare!

Efficient: Packed with a balance of healthy carbohydrates, fiber, protein, and other important minerals & enzymes!

When I’m on the go, I usually opt for 4-6 small meals, instead of 3 larger meals. In doing this, it sustains my energy levels throughout the day, and keeps me sat-is-fied! 

There was very little time for planning, so I used what I had

I am now going to provide you with a little sample “food diary,” so y’all have a better idea for how things are run in la cocina de Daily Dubie <wink wink> on a typical run-around-town kinda day:

*7am, woke up! —> Before I hit the gym for my 30 minute cardio sesh, I quickly mixed together a bowl of:

*Because I knew I was not going to sit down to breakfast until 11:15ish (I eat late!), this worked because I had a minimum of 4 hours soaking time, otherwise, I would usually prepare these overnight, hence the name of the recipe <wink wink>.

**It’s important to clarify that I do not like to eat anything prior to working out, and I am not usually hungry for breakfast until 10:30-11ish. But I do ALWAYS EAT BREAKFAST, it’s just what works for MY BODY, not to say it works for everyone.**

*9:30am-11:00am—> Appointment across town.

*11:15am—> BREAKFAST TIME! :)

*1pm-2pm—> Counseling Appointment

*2:30pm—> Make myself a Black Bean & Egg Taco to fuel me for the next 3 hours while I’m at my 3 o’clock appointment Uptown.

Taco Consisted of Following:

1 Free Range, Organic Egg+ Extra Egg White, Scrambled

1 Small Ezekiel Sprouted Corn Tortilla heated stove-top until crisp, folded like taco immediately after being removed from heat so it holds shape.

1/4 Cup Refried Organic Black Beans, Spread inside tortilla before adding eggs

*3pm-5pm—> Appointment Uptown (Take Trilogy Kombucha with me)

*5:30pm—> Home (Finally!) & SNACK TIME! Snack time consisted of the following:

*1/3 Cup Watermelon Chunks

*Fruit Pafait

Which consisted of:

-1/2 Small Granny Smith Apple sliced into chunks

-6 Strawberries

-1/4 Cup Blueberries

-1 tsp Flaxseeds

- 2 tsp Almond Butter drizzled + 2 T of Almond Butter on a spoon because I’m obsessed & it’s amazeballs!

*Dinner: Obviously I haven’t gotten this far in my evening yet, but I have a plan, Dolls! Yes I do! … On the menu:

Whole Wheat Orzo, Heirloom Tomato, & Fresh Basil Salad

*Dessert: I’m brainstorming now! I’m in the mood to bake, and I’d like to have something healthy & delish on-hand if I’m in the mood to eat sweet post-dinner! …Something chocolate-chocolatey sounds amazeballs…
